MAXIMA MFK-3500 Series Forensic Light Source Kits

March 1, 2010

Spectronics Corporation has recently introduced the MAXIMA MFK-3500 Series Forensic Light Source Kits. Available with either a UV spot beam or UV diffused beam, these kits utilize Micro Discharge Light (MDL) technology to produce an ultra-powerful forensic inspection lamp. The MAXIMA lamp's searchlight-type power allows for long-range, wide-area coverage. Working on either AC or DC voltage, it lets forensic specialists view potential crime scene evidence in the field or lab. Its high-intensity, 35-watt MDL bulb/reflector easily illuminates bodily fluids, fibers, fingerprints and other fluorescent samples, even in daylight. The lightweight lamp features a solid-state ballast and 8-foot primary and secondary cords. A DC battery pack attaches easily to the ballast housing. Five interchangeable, twist-lock forensic filters (UV, clear, general, blue and green) provide a maximum range of individual spectrums for enhanced detection of forensic samples. The kits also include four pairs of UV-absorbing contrast spectacles (clear, yellow, orange and red) and an AC charger. They are available in 120V, 230V, 240V and 100V versions. The lamp is stored in a rugged, plastic carrying case and a soft case is provided for the filters and spectacles.
